The Dma And Abu Dhabi Police Meet To Discuss Further Cooperation To Achieve Better Safety And Stability In The Emirate
Abu Dhabi, February 16, 2011: As part of their commitment to enhance the security and stability for the residents of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the UAE, a delegation from Abu Dhabi Police met with the Department of Municipal Affairs (DMA). Several topics were discussed, and top on the agenda of discussions was how the two entities can coordinate to achieve the Emirate’s policy that seeks to provide Abu Dhabi with stability and higher security standards to make it a better place for residents, investors, and visitors.
The two entities discussed the possibility of identifying performance indicators that can assist the police in measuring the information needs, which will help to guarantee the community’s safety and security.

The past of Abu Dhabi reveled in Al Ain
Al AIN 2 February 2011 – HH Sheikh Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan- Ruler's Representative in the Eastern Region of Abu Dhabi inaugurated today “The Dawn of History: Revealing the Ancient Past of Abu Dhabi”exhibition in Al Jahili Fort in Al Ain.
The exhibition, held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan- Ruler's Representative in the Eastern Region of Abu Dhabi, is organized by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH) and the Moesgård Museum in Denmark and is supported by the Sheikha Salama Bint Hamdan Al Nahyan Foundation in Abu Dhabi.

Baniyas Awards Bawabat Al Sharq Phase II AED 190 Million Contract to Royal International
Works commenced on the 129 Villas and 14 Apartment Blocks
Abu Dhabi, UAE, February **, 2011: Baniyas Investment and Development Company (BID) – the investment arm of Bani Yas Sports Club – has awarded the AED 190 million construction contract for the second Phase of the Bawabat Al Sharq (BAS) Project to Royal International Construction LLC, the established local contractor in the UAE.
Aside from the construction contract, the enabling and backfilling works on Phase II of BAS which consists of 129 villas and 14 apartment blocks have already been awarded to the renowned Bauer International LLC. Bauer has already mobilized on site and commenced its works on the project which will be handed over to the owners towards the end of this year. Read More
Drake & Scull International achieves a backlog of AED 5.5 billion
Drake & Scull International (DSI) PJSC has announced the company’s backlog as of September 30th 2010 stood at AED 5.5 billion, a 66% increase over the AED 3.3 billion backlog recorded at the end of 2009.
The latest figures include the consolidation of Drake & Scull International Saudi’s backlog following the recent 65% acquisition of the company by DSI.
Drake & Scull International has also announced today contract wins of three new projects – two in Oman and one in the UAE.
“At the beginning of 2010, we set out to expand our business portfolio and estimated an end-of-year backlog of over AED 5 billion,” commented Khaldoun Tabari, CEO of DSI. Read More

BDP Wins Kuwait Masterplan
BDP has successfully bid for a transport and planning framework masterplan for the Salmiya district of Kuwait City; the formal signing of the 14 month contract, with a value in excess of £2m, took place in January 2011.
Salmiya district is an existing urbanised area on the Gulf Coast of approximately 20 sq km. Growing congestion, pressures for redevelopment and a recognition of the existing poor quality of place have led the Kuwait Municipality to commission this work which will set in place the infrastructure, planning and design guidelines to enable the transformation of the district over the next 15 years.
