UT Technology Showcases its leading Smart Home Technology at Cityscape Abu Dhabi 2012

Abu Dhabi, April 2012: UT Technology, a subsidiary of Etisalat, today announced that it will showcase its Smart Home applications during its participation in Cityscape Abu Dhabi 2012. Smart Home technology is deployed as standard across the Al Reem Island Project, which is the first ‘smart community’ in the UAE.
In its stand, UT Technology will showcase a model smart home which was designed for Al Reem Island. Evenutally Al Reem Island will contain more than 300 smart buildings.
Saleem Al Marzouqi, CEO of UT Technology, said: “Smart Homes are the future of real estate. These kind of homes started to spread largely in the world and the region. UT Technology is a leader in providing these solutions to developers. We are working to change the lifestyle of our customers, where the owner of a smart home can control his house through mobile phone or internet from anywhere. For example, the system can send a text message to the owner in case of any violation of security in the home. This increases safety of homes and users can reduce the risk of anything happening to his house whilst he is away. "
Smart homes can be centrally managed through one work station and the owner can manage all devices at home including curtains, TV, video, the security system, lighting and air conditioning using a mobile phone or internet from any place around the world.
“Smart Homes are not only about providing technology, they also contribute to conserving the environment and reduce pollution. Smart Homes applications rationalize 30% of energy consumption, providing around 50% of space needed for technology infrastructure and provides people with more control over their appliances. This helps in rationalizing energy consumption by controlling usage of electricity, water and gas," Saleem added
Through Etisalat’s FTTH network, UT Technology will provide eLife services in Al Reem Island and offer greater access to broadband services. This also allows them to provide additional services to its customers including video conferencing, TV broadcast and Voice over IP.
Etisalat is one of the first telecommunication companies to provide Smart Homes solutions in the region. In 2006 Etisalat established "UT Technology" for this purpose. Etisalat is also a leader in using this technology in its building since 1985. Etisalat buildings are now centrally controlled including electronic and electrical devices, air conditioning, elevators and fire alarm systems.
