DMA Chairman visit to Cityscape Abudhabi
Majid Al Mansouri: Enhancing municipal services and achieving sustainability in the Emirate is a priority
H.E. Majid Ali Al Mansouri Chairman of Department of Municipal Affairs, stressed during Cityscape Abu Dhabi 2011 which ended yesterday, the importance of development projects showcased by the department of municipal affairs and the 3 municipalities of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Municipality, Al Ain and the western region. He also highlighted the role of those projects in achieving sustainable development in the Emirate stressing the importance to continue enhancing the quality of services offered by the municipal system which would lead to achieving the vision of the country’s leadership.
H.E added that that the economy of the emirate of Abu Dhabi has formed a strong base to power ahead towards the future supported by a solid foundations with the expectations of achieving growth this year about 7% adding that the development projects taking place in Abu Dhabi has attracted the eyes of the world and opened the door for a lot of investment opportunities.
Referring to Abu Dhabi's 2030 vision to establish the Emirate of Abu Dhabi as one of the top five governments of the world, Al Mansouri commented that Abu Dhabi was providing an infrastructure that was capable of supporting economic growth and that attracts and protects investment in the Emirate and creates many investment opportunities in the real state sector.
Al Mansouri underlined the unique transformation that had taken place over recent years in the country, aiming at improving standards and regulations to attract investments in various sectors including tourism, services, technology, education, health, roads, transportation, and infrastructure.
Referring to governmental expenditure on many development projects, he said this expenditure will help the property sector to power ahead towards a more promising future creating a lot of opportunities for the real estate developers, but as the same time putting more challenges ahead of the municipal system in Abu Dhabi while seeking to achieve leaders' vision of progress, excellence, and partnership to create a sustainable environment by shaping and enforcing a regulatory framework which will guarantee sustainability within the building and construction industry like the new building codes which aims to unify construction practices across the Emirate to create better, safer, greener buildings that are more cost-effective and durable, and that are built to even higher health and safety standards.
It is worth mentioning that, the municipal system had showcased 38 development projects at Cityscape - Abu Dhabi of which all have attracted a great attention by the visitors and exhibitors and stakeholders.
Furthermore, the property market in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi is gathering more strength supported by the different infrastructure projects by the government and by the delivery of new units in different areas of the Emirate which will offer new support to the market.
